The Jerney Winebar was opened in the summer of 2006 at one of the most frequented touristic areas in Budapest, at the Dunakorzó, next to the Hotel InterContinental; but the Four Seasons, the Sofitel Atrium, the Kempinski and the Mariott Hotel are also only a few minutes of walk away.
From the shop and its terrace you have an uncomparable view on the River Danube, its bridges and the Buda Casle, wherefore it has become a favourite place for tourists from the very first moment. Thanks to the magical atmosphere, our devoted staff, and last but not least the exceptional Hungarian wines we also have numerous Hungarian regulars, some of whom we can proudly call our friends.
The Jerney Winebar offers not only fantastic wines, an inviting menu and live music, but also organizes special events, like wine tastings and wine dinners. We can ensure you that every thirsty and hungry guest is going to have a pleasant time.
Part of our bar is made into a professional wine shop where our guest can buy and take home the wines they especially liked.
Our hope is to create a present and a future worthy of the Jerney family's noble past, for the pleasure of all living heirs, our guests and business partners.
As one of the Jerney Winebar's owners I would like to say a few words about the name and the origin of the Jerney family.
The Jerney are a noble family of many generations who received their beautiful coat-of-arms, which we use and display proudly as our shop's logo, for their unconditional loyalty to their king. One of them was an explorer who investigated the origins of the Hungarians in Etelköz, while another member founded a university to aid and further young talent. Our visitors will find several original documents in our shop that bear witness to their stories. Despite the differences in their courses of life, however, all Jerneys have always had one thing in common: the affection for wine making and good wines - never to be missing from their tables at exceptional occasions.
